“Restoring Hope — Restoring Lives”

The life-skills, work-skills and education that many take for granted never existed in some lives. After life-long failure, some give up trying and learn to depend on (and conceal) the use of alcohol, drugs or other addictions. After living much of their life this way, time, commitment and care are essential to reach them. The 35 or more who are in the New Life Recovery program make a 12-month commitment.

Someone who lost their way, who dropped out or has known little hope, needs more than a “band-aid”. The consequences of living  for the moment  (rather than on principles), are great.  For that reason, our education, life-skills, career development, drug/alcohol aspects and the confidence building of our program are rooted in a life-changing relationship with Jesus Christ.

With a significant investment, in 1997 UGM was the 2nd northwest Mission to Implement Innovative Learning System’s NOVA Education Program. Today, up to 42 men and women on our New Life Recovery program spend 6 or more hours a week there, learning, gaining confidence and skills.

The Learning Center is a vital, integral part of reaching and equipping lives to live victoriously.

Program Objectives:

·          Encourage people to draw on the Lord’s strength rather than upon their own.

·          Encourage people to set goals and develop a plan.

·          Equip people to seek a career (rather than a job).

·          Motivate people for success.

·          Promote balance and stability, with personal and career-related skills and characteristics.

·          Improve and build solid relations.
