New Life Fellowship

A transformative discipleship program extending God’s love and grace to men and women in desperate need of life change. Throughout this fellowship of brothers and sisters, participants stabilize, challenge false beliefs, and learn to walk in a Christ-like way. We connect our program participants to a local church, prepare them for employment, and further their education. However, our ultimate goal is to demonstrate to everyone that a new life is possible through Jesus Christ.

When our program participants graduate, we encourage our community to celebrate with them.

The Foundation of Fellowship

The New Life Fellowship is based upon the foundational principles of extending God’s love and grace to the individual in a safe and healing environment, while at the same time holding the community member accountable for their actions. We encourage program participants to experience God’s amazing grace and love, which will free them from the bondage that brings them to our door.

A correctly perceived identity is critical for lasting, meaningful life transformation—and the key to understanding oneself and gaining wholeness is the ability to see and appreciate where one stands with God. Counselors, mentors, and teachers are all a part of each individual’s journey in guiding them toward understanding their relationship with God and forming their identity firmly around God alone.

Complete accountability for Christ-like behavior applies to all participants, both those in the program and staff. Those who join this fellowship agree to hold to Christ-likeness as the standard by which all behavior will be evaluated. This creates a safe and healing environment that aids the recovery process from things like chemical addictions and associated behaviors.

The recovery process is redemptive, not punitive.

In order for healthy recovery to take place and successful living to be implemented, the participants seeking life change must exhibit, and continue to display throughout the New Life Fellowship, the following three characteristics…

Brokenness

This is what graduates often refer to as “hitting the bottom” of their journey, where one is truly ready to accept whatever help is needed. Losing the desire to fight and beginning to surrender.

Openness

Resulting from brokenness is the willingness to receive input from others and remain vulnerable when feedback is provided. Defensiveness reveals a lack of openness.

Desperation

This flows from a clear understanding of the emergency nature of homelessness and addiction. Desperation produces the focus needed to sustain recovery.

Phases in the New Life Fellowship

While the New Life Fellowship follows a structured framework, we understand that every program member’s journey is unique and tailored to their specific circumstances and needs. We recognize the importance of flexibility and customization, allowing individuals to embark on a path that best suits them. Below is the framework of our discipleship program that we strive for, but men and women may stretch between phases before reaching the Exodus of their fellowship.

1. Candidacy

In the pre-program phase, members assess their readiness. They will establish support networks, attend church and addiction victory groups, undergo testing, work therapy, and counseling sessions.

2. Stabilization

Members transition into their new community. They learn healthy communication skills, responsibility, and spiritual connections to prioritize well-being.

3. Transformation

Members will embark on addressing false beliefs and unhealthy attachments. They are learning what it means to be men of God who are transparent and vulnerable in relationships.

4. Readiness

Members plan a successful transition. They apply biblical truth, resolve conflicts, explore career direction, and more! Oh, and writing out their testimonies.

5. Exodus

Members transition from the NLF to independent life, focusing on employment, education, or internships, while fulfilling the program's previous objectives. During this phase, they will increasingly depend on their local church and mentors for support.

6. Lifeline

Lifeline, a support group for graduates, fosters lasting connections and hope, deepening bonds with their community, and offer support to those in addiction.
